About Christina
Hello,
my name is Christina. I am the founder, designer and CEO of Linen & Quince.
In February 2021, after six months of planning and preparation, I founded Linen & Quince. Alone, with a ridiculous €1000 share capital, a full-time job in the real estate industry, a toddler who didn’t want to go back to daycare after the pandemic-related house arrest, with big ideas and far too little time and expertise to implement them all.
Since then, more than three years have passed, the full-time job in the real estate industry is now a thing of the past, the child is no longer quite so small, the big ideas have multiplied and the expertise is growing with each passing day. I could never have imagined, right at the beginning, what would come my way, what bureaucratic hurdles I would overcome, what technical difficulties I would overcome and how much I would actually learn.
I’ve always wanted to be self-employed. I’ve always wanted to have a business and nothing will ever be able to dissuade me from it. No job would ever appeal to me more, no matter how much higher the salary would be, how much easier the job would be, or how much shorter the working hours.
Already at the age of 18 I started my own business as an event manager. It hadn’t been my Tarum directly, but rather an opportunity that had crossed my path and that I had been only too happy to seize at the time.
In 2021, after a total of 17 years and most recently a few years only part-time, I completely turned my back on the event industry and decided to fulfill my childhood dream of becoming a designer and founding a company that offers products.
As already mentioned, I am also a stately certified real estate agent and am currently studying economics on the side.
When I was a kid, I loved sewing my own designed clothes, painting with oil paints, or decorating my room over and over again. The desire to express my creativity professionally has grown in recent years. Above all, the pandemic showed me how short our lives are and how fragile our social structures actually are. And I couldn’t wait to start a new, big project: Linen & Quince.
Founding and working for Linen & Quince is therefore the fulfillment of a dream for me. And I am happy every day to be able to share my ideas, projects and products, as well as my joy and inspiration with you.
Since the beginning of 2023, I have also been writing and advising on a personal website on many topics related to business start-ups, finances, real estate and also personal development in the context of entrepreneurship. In the past, I have often been asked about starting and running a business. Many shy away from starting a business, so I decided to give back office and executive tasks a platform and help people on their way to entrepreneurship or self-employment.
As a trained real estate expert, I also have in-depth knowledge of real estate and financial topics and have also been involved in personal development, especially in the context of professional development, for many years, so I would like to share my knowledge and 20 years of experience with you and thus support you on your way. If you are interested in these topics and want to learn more, feel free to check out my website christinaernst.net .
All the love
Christina
